My counseling fee is currently $110.00 per 45-minute session. As of this time, I accept cash, personal checks, Visa and MasterCard as methods of payment. If a personal check is returned because of insufficient funds, you are responsible for reimbursing any associated bank fees for this.
I respectfully ask you to give 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or change an appointment, except, of course, in the case of a sudden/serious personal or family emergency. I will do the same, should I ever need to cancel with you. If you are unable to give appropriate notice, you will be expected to pay the full fee for the missed session. If you miss three (3) sessions with me, it may signal that you are not fully able to engage in counseling at this time, and therefore I may terminate our counseling relationship.
Insurance Reimbursement & Use of Diagnosis
You are responsible for payment of your session fees, which are due at the time service is rendered. I do not accept health insurance at this time.
You may choose to file for “out of network” benefits and can be reimbursed by your insurance company. I can provide an itemized statement at any time for you. Some insurance companies will reimburse clients for counseling services and some will not.
Most insurance companies will require a diagnosis of a mental health condition and indicate that you must have an “illness” before they will agree to reimburse you. Some conditions for which people seek counseling do not qualify for reimbursement. If a qualifying diagnosis is appropriate in your case, I will inform you of the diagnosis before you submit it to the health insurance company. Any diagnosis made will become part of your permanent insurance records.
